These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of Abyssos (the "App"), a personal household financial estimation application published by Shipping Trains L.L.C. ("Shipping Trains," "we," "us," or "our").
By downloading, accessing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. The Service
Abyssos helps you organize household financial information you enter yourself and generate planning estimates (such as cash flow, savings trajectories, debt payoff timing, and financial independence projections).
Abyssos:
- Does not connect to banks or financial institutions
- Does not provide financial, tax, investment, accounting, or legal advice
- Does not guarantee that any projection, estimate, or summary will match real-world results
You are solely responsible for the accuracy of information you enter and for any decisions you make based on the App.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction) to use the App. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the App only with permission of a parent or legal guardian.
4. Your Account and Apple Services
Abyssos does not require a separate Shipping Trains account. Purchases, Family Sharing, iCloud sync, and household sharing use your Apple ID and Apple services.
Your use of Apple services is also governed by Apple's applicable terms (including Apple Media Services Terms and iCloud terms).
5. Free Tier and Abyssos Premium
5.1 Free use
The App may be downloaded and used without charge under Free tier limits. Free limits may include caps on the number of income sources, assets, expenses, liabilities, projects (goals), and replacements, and may exclude multi-user household collaboration.
Linked items created with an asset (such as financed debt, a linked expense, or linked income) may not count as separate Free-tier objects toward those limits.
5.2 Premium features
Abyssos Premium may unlock:
- Unlimited tracking across income, assets, expenses, and liabilities
- Unlimited Projects and Replacements
- Multi-user household collaboration (owner-initiated sharing)
Feature availability may change over time. We will describe material Premium benefits in the App and on the App Store product pages.
5.3 Purchases through Apple
All payments for Abyssos Premium are processed by Apple through In-App Purchase. We do not collect or store your payment card information.
Available purchase options may include:
- Monthly auto-renewable subscription
- Lifetime (one-time) unlock
Exact prices are shown in the App / App Store at the time of purchase and may vary by region and currency.
5.4 Subscriptions (auto-renewal)
If you purchase a subscription:
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase
- The subscription automatically renews unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
- Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period
- You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID account settings: https://apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions
Unused portions of a free trial (if offered) may be forfeited when you purchase a subscription, where permitted by Apple.
5.5 Lifetime unlock
A Lifetime purchase is a non-consumable In-App Purchase that unlocks Premium features for as long as we continue to offer Abyssos and support that entitlement on your Apple ID, subject to these Terms and Apple's rules. Lifetime does not guarantee the App will remain available forever or that features will never change.
5.6 Restore Purchases and Family Sharing
You may restore eligible purchases on devices signed in with the same Apple ID using Restore Purchases in the App.
If Family Sharing is enabled for a product and the purchaser allows sharing, eligible family members may receive Premium access under Apple's Family Sharing rules. Family access depends on Apple's systems and the purchaser's settings; we do not control Family Sharing independently of Apple.
5.7 Refunds
Refund requests are handled by Apple under Apple's refund policies. Contact Apple Support for purchase refunds.
6. Household Sharing and Collaboration
If you use Premium collaboration features:
- Only the household owner may initiate sharing
- Shared data is transmitted and stored using Apple's CloudKit sharing
- Invitees may view or edit the shared household according to permissions you grant through Apple's sharing UI
- Invitees do not receive Premium for their own separate households merely by joining yours
- If the owner's Premium access ends, sharing may be paused or stopped and collaborators may lose access to the shared household
Share only with people you trust. You are responsible for whom you invite.
7. Your Content and Data
You retain ownership of the information you enter into Abyssos ("Your Content").
You grant us no license to collect or use Your Content on our servers, because Abyssos is designed so Your Content remains on your device and/or in your private Apple iCloud account (and with people you choose to share with).
You are responsible for:
- Backing up Your Content (including via iCloud or export features)
- Not entering sensitive identifiers the App does not need (for example Social Security numbers, full payment card numbers, bank account numbers, or government IDs)
- Complying with applicable law when entering or sharing information about other people
8. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the App for unlawful purposes
- Attempt to reverse engineer, interfere with, or disrupt the App (except to the extent such restriction is prohibited by law)
- Circumvent Free-tier limits, purchase verification, or access controls except through legitimate Apple purchases or Family Sharing
- Misrepresent your identity to Apple or other users in sharing flows
- Use the App to store or distribute malware or illegal content
9. Intellectual Property
The App, including its design, software, trademarks, and branding (including "Abyssos"), are owned by Shipping Trains L.L.C. or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws.
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on Apple devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store terms.
10. Third-Party Services
The App relies on third-party services we do not operate. Today that includes Apple (App Store, StoreKit, iCloud/CloudKit, and push notifications) and, when you use non-USD household currency features, Frankfurter for optional exchange-rate reference data.
An on-device Apple Intelligence assistant, and optional web search via providers such as DuckDuckGo and Wikipedia, may be offered in a future update. Those features are not part of the current shipping experience; if we enable them, we will describe how they work in the Privacy Policy.
Those third-party services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for services we do not control.
11. Disclaimers
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
Planning estimates are illustrative only. We do not warrant that projections, calculations, syncing, notifications, AI outputs, or any other App features will be accurate, complete, uninterrupted, or error-free.
12. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SHIPPING TRAINS L.L.C. AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE APP.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE APP WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID TO US (IF ANY) FOR ABYSSOS PREMIUM IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those places, our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by law.
13. Indemnity
To the maximum extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Shipping Trains L.L.C. from claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your misuse of the App, your Content, your sharing of household data, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.
14. Changes to the App and Terms
We may update the App, Premium features, Free limits, pricing (via the App Store), and these Terms from time to time. When we update these Terms, we will revise the "Last updated" date and post the current version at https://shippingtrains.com/apps/abyssos/terms/.
Continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms, except where additional consent is required by law.
15. Termination
You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it.
We may suspend or stop offering the App or particular features. If Premium access ends (for example subscription expiration, refund, or revocation), Free-tier limits may apply again. Existing data is not deleted solely because Premium ends, but collaboration/sharing may stop as described above.
16. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, USA, excluding conflict-of-law rules, unless mandatory consumer protections in your place of residence provide otherwise.
